6 - what have learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
There has been a lot of preparation with are opening sequence it first started with are animation logo 'lost dog' . we would use photoshop to make it, it was interesting to use the tools of it and explore different types of ways to use it, but we wanted to make the animation look as professional as it could , but we struggled with it at first as we didn't know the best way to do it, but then after messing around with it for a bit we then made the decision of the name and the logo that came with it. As you see from these pictures we decided to have the dog flicker and change colour as it would show the dog adapting to his lonely life and also the blue represents a sad emotion.
I really enjoyed the editing process of the project as even though there was much to do and the editing took a long time to make perfect with , shots, editing, sound etc. but it was very fun as it was are creation and we could make it are own. Sound was one of the things that we included in the project, we would use narration to highlight lines from the opening sequence. At first it was a diffcult to make the recording begin as there were a few steps to record, but as we got used to it. it became handy in the film.
Premiere Pro was very useful for are project as it allowed us to use video shots from are camera, Also i liked how the program could provide you with everything in order to make a film, for example they had a thing where you could make titles for your film and you could place where you wanted to, showing us the frame, and you could use the font in order to make it fit to your genre, instead of going to another site, they had all the things you needed.
Also we came across some problems with Youtube, one of these was the copyright issues with are opening. as we couldn't use music that was copy written. so we were struggling to find music that would be fine to use and also something that would fit with are film, but then we got samples of music from are desktop and we actually ending using music from this and worked very well in are opening sequence. This song was called - Not a Chance.
because of technological convergences we can use sites like blogger this gives us the platform to present are work and embed the codes from youtube in order to put all are work on here with a formal presentation behind it. Also it allows different programs to be allowed on its website. e.g. i can use videos from youtube. Write about it and use screenshots next to it to explain in more detail.
5 - How did you attract your audience
In are opening sequence we looked at giving the audience a sense of tension when watching it. As are film is a thriller based film we didn't want to give away the plot straight away that's why as you see in the opening sequence there's establishing shots and characters are shown but you don't know there super objective of there film. e.g.
I feel because are film is thriller based we wanted a atmosphere in the opening sequence that would excite them, as the shots that we decided to put in the opening sequence are very pulling. in a way that you don't know the story behind them.
More specifically i feel that are target audience would be males that have the age between 15-30, the reason i feel this is because the film is quiet violent in certain scenes a couple examples is:
when Ryan (Fraser) is holding gun
This is a example of violence in the film i feel when the target audience sees this shot, they will be intrigued to find out what he will do with the victim on the floor, as the audience would know by now that this the bad guy from the past shots, so they know that he's up to know good.
Another shot here and this shows Fraser with a bat towards Aaron neck threatening him to keep his mouth shut, this is quiet an intense scene already and adding the bat to the scene makes it more violent, but this is the sort of thing are target audience would enjoy, as it sets a perfect mood for a thriller based film.
this makes the audience ask questions and we want this as we want them to carry on watching. I feel that are music really adds tension to are opening sequence as with every shot the music is in beat and i feel this adds suspense as its quiet a loud ping sound also its quiet calm with the sequence this relates to the film adulthood in this scene you would see the camera zooming into shots that, the audience wouldn't understand and we wanted that feeling as i feel when its thriller based the audience should always be asking questions.
